Layering and mixing those effects allows me to create some very alien sounds.

I slowed down a sample I had created using the String Synthesizer. I then mangled it in Audacity using the wah wah effect and some slight adjustment with the phaser effect. I also used invert and amplify at a couple of points in the process.
